Nathan Poole

As a third generation contractor, Nathan has been immersed in the world of construction for the vast majority of his life. He started his career as a carpentry subcontractor more than 20 years ago, and is now heavily involved in the day-to-day operations of Mid-South Contractors. He has personally managed over $30 million dollars' worth of construction projects, including investor flips, new multi-family construction, pre-engineered metal buildings, commercial ground-up construction & renovation projects, sports facility construction projects, and single family homes. 


He holds a Bachelor's degree from Southeastern University in Lakeland, FL, as well as a Master's in Management from the University of Central Florida. 

Jenna Poole

Partner, CPA, MSA

Jenna brings a wealth of financial management experience to the construction world. Jenna previously spent six years in public accounting managing many millions in financial statement audits. She then spent four years as a project manager for a Fortune-10 network and telecommunications company, where she worked as a business process consultant and team leader to evaluate and develop technological solutions to complex business issues, implementing systems and automation tools to streamline business processes, reduce risk, and increase efficiency. 


Jenna graduated with a Bachelor's from Southeastern University with high honors, and was selected by faculty members to receive the “Most Outstanding Accounting Graduate” award by university faculty. She later continued her education by earning a Master's Degree in Accounting from Liberty University. For the last four years, she has been the CFO of Mid-South Contractors. Today, she continues to apply her vast financial knowledge both in her role as CFO and as an active, state-licensed CPA.

Mark Trefny

Partner, Director of Construction

Mark serves as Mid-South Contractors' final authority on all construction endeavors. His mission is to utilize his eye for quality control and experience with customer satisfaction to ensure that all customers will continue to refer to Mid-South as the best contracting firm around. 


Mark’s expertise in the construction field crosses a broad range of capacities. Since the late 70’s, he has both managed and self-performed contracting work in multiple states throughout the Southeast U.S. He has also overseen and participated in numerous construction projects, many of which involved large-scale commercial concrete structures such as seawalls and shipyards. Mark also has extensive experience in steel erection, concrete pouring and finishing, and with the execution of large commercial and structural contracts. In the residential market, his experience ranges in scope from both single and multi-family properties. 


In 1995, Mark moved from Louisiana to Florida to begin a personal venture involving the buying, renovating, and flipping of homes and rental properties. After Hurricane Katrina, Mark traveled to both Louisiana and Mississippi to assist in the process of rebuilding the devastated communities there. Currently, Mark applies his sharp management skills while constructing the finest structures in the greater Central Florida area.

David Ruizcalderon

executive VP of Development, MSL

As the company’s Executive Vice President of Development, David’s focus is on pursuing profitable business opportunities for Mid-South. David grew his communication, management, and leadership skills both while earning his Master’s in Sports Leadership at Northeastern University and while working as an operations manager for the second largest LA Fitness location in Florida, frequented by over 2300 individuals on its most crowded days of the year. 


David’s mission is to establish professional connections with other individuals and companies in the construction industry that can further the company’s growth. Inspired by his father’s involvement in the construction industry as a CFO for major construction companies for 40 years, he is committed to expanding Mid-South’s reputation as a family-owned business that has grown to complete millions of dollars’ worth of residential, commerical, and government projects. His positive energy and drive, in addition to his educational and professional experiences, are what make him an asset to the Mid-South team. 


Stephanie Porven

Office manager, MFA

Stephanie’s attention to detail stems from her experience with proofreading and transcribing audio files of depositions, hearings, and criminal court proceedings for the State of Florida for 10 years. As office manager, she is committed to working relentlessly to ensure that all Mid-South team members, vendors, and project owners are communicating efficiently and that all company records are being updated accordingly. In addition to managing office staff and the bid acquisition process, Stephanie is also responsible for corresponding with subcontractors, project owners, and prospective clients on a daily basis. 


While earning her Bachelor of Arts degree in Creative Writing and Classical Civilization at Florida State University, she developed strong writing and critical reading skills that she continues to apply today while drafting and reviewing subcontracts for residential, commercial, and government projects. Stephanie also holds a Master of Fine Arts in Poetry from the University of Central Florida. While earning her graduate degree at UCF, she strengthened her organizational and communication skills while completing an 80-page thesis and teaching creative writing to over 60 undergraduate students.


Gabriel Dasilva

Administrative Assistant, BBA

As someone who grew up assisting his family with their glazing company, Gabriel has always felt called to dive into the construction industry. With every task he is met with in the office, he exhibits persistence, a quick ability to learn, and a strong passion for exhibiting excellent customer service. 


Gabriel’s professional background is incredibly varied. While working to earn a Bachelor’s in Business Administration from Florida Atlantic University, Gabe challenged himself to grow by working as an office assistant for Peoples Insurance and a success coach assistant for Florida International University online. He is a go-getter on our Mid-South team and efficiently assists the office manager in bid acquisition, managing contact with subcontractors and prospective clients, and in record keeping.


Juan Diez

Senior Project manager

As senior project manager for Mid-South, Juan manages the construction schedule of the majority of Mid-South’s residential and commerical projects as well as the individuals completing work on those sites. His responsibilities include communicating with subcontractors regarding contract terms, scheduling inspections, ordering materials, attending construction meetings, and evaluating bids and bid inclusions and exclusions.

Jeff Royle

Director of Development

With over 16 years’ worth of experience working as a real estate broker and the owner of a brokerage, Jeff knows how to collaborate with Mid-South team members to achieve business goals. His adept ability to gather and follow up on lead opportunities has allowed him to build lasting professional relationships with clients and manage large-scale project scopes ranging from $20 million to $100 million dollars in planned multi-year development.

neil Thomas

Superintendent, BS

As one of our site superintendents, Neil brings a wide variety of project management experience to every job he takes on. Neil initially began his career in construction via his experience with property management. In addition to earning his Bachelor’s in Real Estate from Florida State University, he spearheaded the development, design, planning, construction, and on-site sales of single-family and multi-family homes ranging in size from $200,000 to $1M. 


His enthusiasm for the construction industry and his focus on completing every task he is given with excellence has led him to oversee and manage estimates, budgets, and construction time tables for approximately 20 new homes under construction in just one year while he worked for Taylor Morrison. He continues to surpass expectations at Mid-South as the superintendent on site by ensuring that orders and subcontractor work is completed in a timely and professional manner.


Jared Prince

Superintendent

When Jared joined the Mid-South team, he brought nearly two decades of residential construction management experience to the table. As a former residential contractor himself, he's personally overseen numerous crews and has managed the construction of over 50 new homes and 150 home additions from the ground up. 

Ashley alualu

CLIENT RELATIONS LIASON

As a student currently working to earn her Bachelor’s in human resources at the University of Central Florida, Ashley is a diligent worker who excels at expediting the creation and distribution of company documents, including but not limited to flyers, the Mid-South employee manual, and Notice to Owner correspondence. 


In addition to supporting the office manager in the process of posting hiring ads, answering incoming office calls, and drafting and revising subcontracts, Ashley also leads the office in the creation and submission of submittals and RFIs.
